Historical data gathered from the vineyard and from the PAWS station in Royal City confirms the location is ideal for ripening wine grapes; heat units average 3000+ in a warm year, 2700+ in a cool year. In addition, the growing season is long. Bud break is in April and the first frost typically doesn’t arrive until late November allowing grapes plenty of time on the vine to develop complex aromas and flavors.
